Round 11: Dolphins vs South Sydney

i think if knights can beat them away we could if right team turns up fact we only just lost two the rwo form teams as well looking at bunnies most there good wins are at home against the lower sides from 6th down

South's left edge is their most dangerous weapon. Woolf needs to have a game plan to counter that.

I'm no expert, I'd like to see if Herbie could play on the right and Bostock to the left for this game defensively. Might no be an issue with Johnson out and if Mitchell isn't 100%. But on face value, Id probably change them over for 1 game. It may be a stupid idea, Bostock seems defensively strong at centre, however that might prove harder up against Mitchell.

With Johnson out, I would target the new winger with field position kicks. Making them run it out all night, keeping the ball away from Gray.

In attack I would mix the high ball to Bostock up (on the right side). Here Id get hammer involved on our left edge against Mitchell and the new fella. And if the centres dont change sides, id be peppering their right side defense all night with high balls on the 5th in their red zone.

Souths have a big forward pack, running out of dummy half at every opportunity is key, the use of JMK will be key, and Plath ball playing in the middle exploiting large slow forwards. Id be getting Fine and Lemu to be getting involved on the edges to keep as many hitups out of the middle as possible.

Bostock will be marking Mitchell? I just don't follow which centre or which second rower is supposed to be on which side. I think Bostock will do well. I'd like to see and give Herbie more cracks at their other centre.

Campbell Graham.

Bostock will do well. He seemed solid. Id swap them for this game. But no biggie.

Huge game today of potentially two of the top teams. With Plath at dummy half we are perhaps bottom 4 but with JMK or another decent dummy half, top 4. Nothing against Molo but if it encourages the Woolf to go with a hooker rotation of Kurt D and JMK rather than Plath and JMK, it will be a tremendous bonus. But I think he won't do it. This being so, if he goes with Plath in the opening 20 min, we have to keep within 12 points. Getting back more than 12 might be hard against a team of Souths quality. Because they are going to score tries against any team. Won't be like the Dogs last week at all.

At this point, I want to say I'm a big Plath fan. It's just not a fan of him playing dummy half at all!

  • FTS - Finefeuiaki
  • MoM - Finefeuiaki
This guy, Finefeuiaki, has just been getting better and better. It's only a matter of time before he busts right through the line to score. Now they are talking about him being selected for Origin. He's going to be fired up for a big game.

Absolute BEAST this year. And getting better every game. Our best this year along with Herbie.

Happy to see Kurt D back in too. Confusing as to why he is the odd man out. Again, might not be match fit? He is well ahead of Knowles for mine.

A pretty big test tonight against a Souths outfit who have the second best offense in the comp. But, on the flipside, the Dolphins have only surrendered 16 ppg since that horror show v Manly. Souths do have their weaknesses in their defensive line and the Dolphins do have the capabilities to rack up a score in a hurry. Like most games, early momentum is the key which may cause "hotheads" like Mitchell and Walker to lose their cool. It's hard to gauge this one. The Dolphins are certainly capable of a victory. But, the Bunnies are also capable of running over the top of our misfiring forwards.

FTS- Bostock
MOTM- Flegler.

Even in the first set, guys running onto the ball have to stop and wait for the pass and Kotoa has to stop, catch the ball around his shoulder then rush the kick.

Right call. Take the 2, get in front shortly before JMK comes on.
