Round 1: Dolphins vs South Sydney

  • Mitchell is having a field day but the defence through the middle is just atrocious. They are rolling forward so easily.
  • Is Naufahu better than Isaako and Cobbo? Unless those 2 pull their socks up, I think Naufahiu and Bostock will be the wingers in a few weeks.
  • Is Hammer a much centre and Fuller is the best fullback we have?
 
Here is my opinion.

Cobbo had a good game considering our errors in the middle.

Hammer isnt the question. Averillo is when we are asking about centres.

This is on team preparation, and game plan in the wet.
 
The positive is that when we stop making so many mistakes, can score a lot of points in a hurry.

TBH, Cobbo looks overweight to me. Might be better in the centres where he can play more like Mitchell.
 
I'm going to go with those who didn't make many mistakes.

41% possession, 31% territory, 39 MT (Sths 19), 67% CR, lost the PC/RI count, but still had a sniff to win that game. That's the sort of team the Dolphins are. They can score from anywhere, but can't defend to save their lives.

Donga and Plath will shore up the middle and the return of Molo in Rd 4 will benefit as well. Gilbert and Knowles are a bit off the pace, but they will improve. Flegler was terrific considering his long lay-off. Some good things from Finefeuiaki and Lemuelu as well.

I'm certainly disappointed as that first half was deplorable, but the Dolphins didn't throw in the towel. In the end, the class of Walker, Murray and Lattrell was the difference. Souths will be hard to beat this year. The Dolphins have a bit of work to do, but they'll come out firing next week.

If they dont, I will question the coach further.

If you cant get up for a game after that, and if you cant motivate a team to be better after that, then you're not doing your job right.
 
Dog shit. yes there are lots of people out, however the defensive effort was utter rubbish. Flegs and Gilbert were MIA until the last few mins. its fair to say the backs carried the whole today.

Every team has an off day and hopefully this is ours out of the way and its upwards from here. Championship attack ability spoon defense.

lol cobbo aint fat was at the game and he way more skinner than he was our half need quick ball to them simple as that its slow as he shouldnt need to go looking look how quick the ball was getting to bunnies good players thats the diffrence quick ball and they didnt have search it


woolf aint going any where ffs its his second year really shows how dumb some these comments are we need be firing at end season 10 points of the bunnies when we had few dissalowed shows you what we can do if we on same page
 
Poor first game from Knowles. Which to me may highlight an issue. Which is also highlighted with the George Williams signing.

If our eye for talent is directed at these types, we need correction specs.

Its knowles first game. I will give him time. I wont pass judgement yet. But he needs to be a heap better.

Playing sport in the cool of europe is one thing. Play is the condition in Australia is totally different.
 
I can’t believe all the negative comments about our team, players and coaches, calm down everyone. Woolf is our coach and a good one at that he is here for the long run. As for Knowles he is a good player he’s moved halfway round the world give him time , it took Adrian Morley time to settle in and everyone loved him .

Hmmmm that first half was a bit of a bad joke. I can't pinpoint anyone bar the coach.

Was the coach on the field telling them to be lazy at markers and to drop balls etc. it’s the first game of the season
