Round 1: Dolphins vs South Sydney

Problem is we always become a monster in the middle of the season then fall off last few that matter. Plus last year we started slow too. I don't think it will take much more to get into the 8 this year unless the pre season was a total waste.

If the defence has been sorted out, we will be up there with Melbourne and Penrith. If not, just miss the 8 again. We know the attack is going to be among the best.
 
Two teams who were severely affected by injury in '25 (especially Souths) and two teams who most pundits feel are a huge chance of a playoff spot in '26. The Dolphins still feeling the effects of the casualty and suspension curse with a couple of "carry overs" and a couple of fresh concerns. Some things never change.

Looking forward to seeing Flegs and Gilbert back in action as well as the new guys in Schneider, Cobbo and Knowles. And of course, the Hammer who is set for a monstrous campaign. Torrential rain has set over SEQ and this is going to be a very sloppy contest. Both teams have strong lineups and this could go either way.

Kayo Stadium is a mess. Thankfully, Suncorp has better drainage. It will still be extremely trying conditions.

An arm wrestle will suit them more. Something also counting against us is that David Fifita has a big game in him a couple of times a season. But still confident.

I’m at work so will watch the replay, I’m guessing ennis is pulling one off about Latrell and Fifita. In my opinion Fifita is a coward and latrell hasn’t put a good season together since he was at the roosters
 
Is prop Gilbert's position full-time now? He's been our best in the first few minutes.
 
By the looks of the opening exchanges, we are going to score a lot of points with even possession.
