Recruitment and Retention for 2027

we got 10 spots lol we got money even if wiliams does come and cap will go up hence plus dans money we aint used plus i dont expect overs on kods new deal nor herbies and rest off contract wont be on huge money ( and wouldnt expect them to want more )

I am not criticising him at all. Just saying he is superfluous to our needs because we have Katoa who is obviously going nowhere and Niko has been killing it. Getting better with age. He must be re-signed. This being so, if George Williams is content to play for Redcliffe unless there is an injury, he is superfluous to our needs.

I remember when he played for Canberra, he was one of the best halfbacks in the competition. If not the best.
You are spot on. Woolf and co. fucked up big time. They were prepared to let Kodi go after his contract expired because they felt that he wasn't part of their future. Hence, the George Williams signing which occurred many months ago at 600K+ per annum to boot.

Fast forward to 2026 and Kodi is having the best season of his life. All of a sudden, the Dolphins are scrambling to come up with an offer that Kodi will accept. It won't be anywhere near 600 as no team can afford to pay three halves top dollar. That wouldn't make much business sense. Kodi can't be too happy about the situation and I don't blame him. He has played well these past four years. The Williams acquisition is just really dumb and like another poster said, even if Kodi stays, it will cost them a different key player. All for a 32 yo no name British HB who may or may not succeed.

NRL360 reporting Williams has been signed for 800k per season.

Dolphins need to find every loophole out of this divisive deal.

I heard 600+ and I was shocked. 800 is just ridiculous and hopefully well off the mark. It's no wonder there isn't anything left over for Kodi.
Hes on pushing 400k in SL which is about $800k he's hardly going to decamp to the other side of the world this late in his career (32 in the off season) for less is he?

We would have plenty of money for kodi dont no what you guys getting so worked up on we not going use molos money so theres a top up for two players n to be honnest. Guys like stone n bostock aint going demand to much more than they are on now as they would of expected bostock to be in blues .if woolf wants him here we need to respect it hes wants him here end of the look at where we are ont the comp and what area ww lack depth in with izzy injured a lot cap going up its going help so much

Kodi won't go ffs none of the nrl clubs wanted him n doubt with young family and fact all reports comes from his brother trying to get him there no reports at all he's got interest from clubs he will be playing a 14 style role which hes known. For to back up jmk club wouldn't be in talks after signed george if no money for him

Way ben has been on bench of late and with him going. We will need it as said above guys on equivalent there nrl aint going let club give him less

Because they’re always spot on with info at NRL 360 , anything to derail our season. Who on here has seen the content of the contract , or the state of our salary cap . Last year they were saying we had plenty of room in the cap because we had front ended a lot of contracts and were in a strong position.

Woolf has got us sitting 3rd on the ladder and he’s fucked up. Kodi has had plenty of offers to stay and dragged his heels. A lot of people on here were slagging Kodi off last year when he stayed at home and wouldn’t play against souths now he’s a messiah . Woolf doesn’t negotiate contracts he will get given a list of players he says yes or no the club negotiate from there, Back the club and players who come , or claim to support the club then come on here and slag them off before they arrive , because your new favourite is leaving.

Thank you all for some good conversation and some not. This is the reason I don’t do social media anymore, there’s to much shit gets written and made up, take care I’m done. Phins up

Dolphins have let Oryn Keeley go early to The Storm.

That is nice of us, did we get anything in return?

With Katoa injured, and the Storm being out of the top 8 but hitting form, I'm wondering.

Whilst I think we make the 8 easily, and I am always for not having players waste away not playing. I'm wondering if we got a payout or fee in return. These things arent often reported.

Hopefully we got some cap space to allow for Niko to be re-signed.

wwe got atleast 9 players to sign who woukd be cheap and cap going up there be plenty , kodi said he doesnt care for what hes paid and that shows by fact hes turn down few over the years

Woolf isn't infallible. We are allowed to say he made mistakes. I don't know of anyone saying he has been bad. But surely we can see he was the driving force behind the singing of Williams. Williams is a good player. At least he was very good when he played for Canberra. But he's a halfback. I thought at the time Katoa might have wanted out. That seems to not be the case. So what is Williams going to do?

i see kodi in 14 ( hes the best in the game at it ) he can fill in for willliams jmk izzy with way the bench and new rules have been working its a win win

as all three kodi jmk izzy get injured a lot yes willams does but having more ammo will be another sting to bow ( as lets get honnest here all good halfs tied up at other clubs and don't think they risking the two from dogs just yet ( plus seems to be gradully putting the junior players in the team )

Dolphins already have the best "14" in the NRL and a major reason why they've won 8 in a row.

Kodi Nikorima best football has been when settled into the no.6 his days as a "utility" are gone he's thriving at 5/8.

With the new 6-man bench, utilities have almost become redundant.
