Winger Brenton Baira scored 26 of the Dolphins’ 58 points with two tries and nine conversions from 10 attempts, while Sheldon Pitama was busy out of dummy-half with a try, two try assists, a linebreak and two linebreak assists.

Veteran prop Jarrod Wallace scored a double to take his try-scoring tally to three in his last two games, while Jarrett Boland — a close mate of Hampson — ran 167 metres and made 16 tackles with no misses to be voted player’s player.

Sean O’Sullivan was officially crowned man of the match at Kayo Stadium after setting up a try, getting two linebreak assists and topping the run metres for the game with 187.

Harrison Graham and surely there's a better option. Even Kodi to hooker, Milf to 5/8.

Impressive in a losing side, Dolphins’ Valynce Te Whare got his team just short of the line with a hat-trick and two linebreaks. Lock Max Bailey also got to work with a try, a linebreak, 23 tackles and 104 running metres.

Remember this is still on. Redcliffe are coming 4th and Capras 8th. They play each other this week. Northern Pride and Norths Devils pretty much have the top 2 spots secured. The remaining 3 spots are up for grabs.

Anthony Milford has been in great form for CQ Capras. The veteran playmaker scored a try, set up another, got two linebreaks and ran 182 metres in his side’s 48-12 win over Wynnum Manly.

Latrell Siegwalt was involved in plenty while playing five-eighth for the Dolphins. The 23-year-old scored 16 points with a try and six conversions, while he also set up a try, got a linebreak and two linebreak assists.

Fan-favourite Valynce Te Whare was destructive in the centres with a try, three linebreaks, nine tackle busts and 188 metres.

Anthony Milford may have played his way into an NRL call-up too after the veteran five-eighth put on a show in the CQ Capras’ 36-24 win over Tweed.

The Dolphins, whom the Capras feed to, will be without Kodi Nikorima after he failed his HIA on the weekend — and that’s where Milford could come in. Sean O’Sullivan is expected to start in Nikorima’s place, while Milford will be an option to come onto the bench.

The 30-year-old turned back the clock with a try, four try assists, five linebreak assists, a linebreak, five tackle busts and 180 running metres.

CQ Capras booked their spot in finals with a win over Tweed. Blake Moore starred at fullback with three tries, three linebreaks and 118 metres, while Lachlan Hubner was busy at lock on both sides of the ball with 193 metres and 20 tackles.

The Dolphins finished the regular season third with a comprehensive win over Mackay which had several standout players.

Trai Fuller was his usual busy self, finishing the game with a try assist, three linebreak assists, four tackle busts and 142 metres, while Harrison Graham and Steven Numambo both bagged doubles.

Valynce Te Whare was unstoppable, scoring a try, getting two linebreaks, 10 tackle busts and 217 metres, while halves duo Joshua James and Latrell Siegwalt led the way. James set up three tries and Siegwalt scored 18 points with a try and seven conversions from eight attempts. He also set up a try, got two linebreaks, a linebreak assist, 10 tackle busts and 129 metres.

The Dolphins have made a second grand final in three years after halfback Joshua James slotted a field goal in the 82nd minute — but they’ll likely be without one of their most important players on Sunday in Trai Fuller.

The livewire fullback suffered a non-contact knee injury and was assisted from the field in the 59th minute. There are fears he may have ruptured his ACL, which would rule him out of the first half of next season too. Prior to the injury Fuller scored a try, got a linebreak, a linebreak assist, had nine tackle busts and ran 112 metres.

Joshua James slotted the field goal to send the Dolphins to a grand final, but many will argue Valynce Te Whare’s try in the 39th minute was the moment of the game. The cult hero, who didn’t get a single NRL game this year, caught a cutout pass from Fuller and ran 70 metres before busting out of two tackle attempts 10 metres out and then slammed the ball down on the stroke of half time. Te Whare finished the game with a linebreak, five tackle busts, 194 metres and 16 tackles — one miss.

The 24-year-old doesn’t have an NRL contract for next year but that try — and his recent form — might catch the attention of some clubs. Te Whare has bagged nine tries in his last seven games. Overall he has 13 tries and 17 linebreaks in 22 Queensland Cup appearances this season. He’s also averaging five tackle busts and 139 metres per game.

Josh Kerr led from the front for the Dolphins with seven tackle busts, 169 metres and 23 tackles — his efforts were rewarded with a crucial try in the 72nd minute.

Norths Devils were in total control of their clash with the PNG Hunters, winning 46-30 to progress to this Sunday’s grand final at Kayo Stadium Tesi Niu was busy with a try, two try assists, two linebreaks, a linebreak assist, five tackle busts and 113 metres, while Julian Christian had a big impact off the bench with two tries and a try assist.

Meanwhile, Oryn Keeley continued his impressive run of form with a try, a try assist, two linebreaks, a linebreak assist, four tackle busts and 180 metres. He also made 20 tackles but did miss six.

Fair to say the Dolphins dominate the QLD Cup but that still hasn't resulted in us getting a lot of the best local talent. Hopefully that will change now the Broncos are in such a mess.

If its anything like over hear the best talent is identified and on a pathway from about the age of 13. That means all the local talent will need a few years to move into the Dolphins NRL system as the Broncos will have anyone from about 16 years old sewn up

💯 they will still be getting first pick at most of the top juniors for another year or 2. After that it will level up. And if things keep going the way they are going for them, we might even turn the tables.
