Was listening to James Grahams Bye round and they were discussing PNG and the tax free status players will get along with dirt cheap living costs. They could put together a great squad of players looking to stuff their pockets.

For PNG to be successful they really need to nail the development and junior competitions. One of their very few advantages is the PNG Hunters play in the Queensland Cup so the direct second tier team is already set up in their home region very much like Dolphins with Redcliffe and later on Norths (Capras based away from the region) unlike Perth Bears where their feeder team is in Sydney. I feel this year V'Landys missed a golden chance this year to use the money already given to the NRL by putting teams into the Cyril Connell, Mal Meninga and NRLQ competitions. We know money has already changed hands with the Australian Government as that was made known via the Broncos public records.

PNG is going to be a hard sell for non-PNG natives this means we have to make it work by setting up strong junior rep teams for the many thousands who play the game in PNG and setup the systems below the Hunters.

NRL can learn from the mistakes they made with Dolphins and look at what worked for the Dolphins too.

Dolphins had the systems & teams in place just needed to fill it with players as all the talented kids from Redcliffe/nearby had been signed up as 15 year olds by other clubs notably Toia, Te Kura, Oloapu, etc. The name of the Caboolture product escapes me.
