20. Corey Horsburgh

  • Obviously I'd have gone with Finefuiaku over Nikora but TBH, the Knights backrowers gave him a bit of a bath on Sunday.
  • 2 backs on the bench is interesting.
  • Other than that, pretty good. Should get the job done.

I would have picked Sharpe and Lucus in the NSW squad I don't rate Martin these days. Sharpe means no two specialist backs on the bench as he covers everything. But they won't make the call with Cleary hence Moses is there and Strange is shafted.

Queensland will win and win well. Laurie Daley was the best player and best captain for NSW at Origin but as a coach and analyst he's completely fried but his own fault for accepting this job.

How long has it been since a winger was man of the series?

Queensland will win by a Cricket score the big difference Laurie Daley isn't their coach.

Time for Isaiya Katoa to be the NSW halfback next year.

This was a bit predictable. Firstly this is the best team NSW have picked by far. Secondly, QLD going in a hot favourites despite the previous sentence was always going to be a worry.

Tough game. A few 50-50 calls went their way but the better team on the night won. Ponga and Walker were pretty poor. Nanai should've been starting and Nikora not in the team.

Gotta say i disagree with the Best try (even though it was a stellar effort) it clearly touched Bostock i also disagree that plath was involved in the play for the disallowed try. That said you cannot let any opposition walk 2 tries in within 10m of the posts and you cannot miss those goals. Also how was Young not binned, he was already on report for a shot.

i think 20-18 for NSW would have been a fair scoreline. and in the future people will just see the win. However some of those decisions start to make people ask questions about the integrity of the refs and the bunker which can only be bad for the game.

Being a NSW supporter, Qld were robbed in the first game. I still don't think Ponga should have been sent off. 10 mins in the bin, yes. Send off, no.

Last night? no. The better team won. The result was correct.

I can see how some might think Bostock got a touch. And I can see how refs may think its not a "Clear and Obvious error" to overturn the on-field decision. For the record I thought he touched it after watching other angles today. Watching last night I thought he didnt. The fact that people are arguing might mean it wasn't clear and obvious based on the available angles to the bunker. Plath was offside, went within 10 meters, its offside. Does he affect the play no, to the letter of the law is it a penalty, yes. Plath shouldn't be so lazy. Be onside. Id have the same criticism if it was a Dolphins game.

I dont rate Ashley K, and to your point, ref's are shit these days because of the reliance on video refs. As a supporter Im happy with human error in refs if you get rid of the video and 6 agains.

Plath ruling was fair. If you go within 10m, that is considered "involved in the play".

I guess in the eyes of Billy Slater, Plath has surpassed Carrigan as a lock. That is also Cotter's last Origin game. He provides very little go-forward. NSW were hammering him.

Cotter been a very ordinary club footballer for most of his career in the game against Dolphins did you see Donoghoe just bowl him over? He’s had some moments at origin but yeah the juice has been squeezed.

Slater blundered the bench badly last night and Daley nearly blundered it had Tedesco passed the Cat 2 HIA. But Daley got the other bits right with the bench how he used AFB and bringing Brailey on.

But both states moving forward your 18-19 players need to be more flexible in their positions and roles. NSW should have picked Sharpe over Koula as he covers 1-6 all with same quality Sharpe is an absolute gun and now Daley is gone I can see someone like Donoghoe push for a bench role especially of Brailey moves to start and Murray goes to lock as Donga kills two birds with one stone on the bench. Duncan will be in the mix for no.18 spot. I expect Tedesco to call time on Origin and maybe Yeo as well.

Katoa to get there really needs to keep working on his kicking game Moses boot was outstanding last night. Strange has zero kick at all and Cleary has got himself another few years.

Cotter is gone. He's done well to punch above his weight for a while but from now, if Slater wants to go with a smaller prop who does a lot of work, Gilbert is the one. Gilbert has been better than Flegler this year.

Yes, I remember Donoghue running over the top of Cotter but no, I think the 6 man bench has put an end to utilities playing Origin unless they are gun hookers plus utilities. Kurt will have to get selected as a lock but has some very serious competition for the spot for a while yet. Next in line will be the Dragons young lock who gave the Broncos pack a bath a few weeks back. Murray will be around for at least 3 more years.

I thought Kurt was a Blue. I could be wrong

Hamish Stewart is the Dragons Lock you are thinking of.

Gun.

Egan, Couchies and Pasifiki are good as well.
Couchman is the one I was thinking of.

Yes, Kurt is from Newcastle. I mean he has Yeo, Murray and I thought Murray was very good last night. He caused us much more trouble than Yeo.
