Last Round: Dolphins vs Gold Coast Titans

I understand this is a nothing game but I do like that we get to have a glimpse of what the phins will be like without Kodi in the halves. Wont comment on the negatives but Naufahu is a gun and Isaako has a decent replacement next year. Love the growing confidence from Pouniu too
 
Need one more try and then get some of our big guns off.
 
What a game for refereeing! Started with binning the Titans player as a square up for the multiple, VERY dubious six again calls against us and following that was square up after square up all night. The no-try where Bostock was ruled to have knocked on was the most flagrant.
 
For the last 20 minutes I was holding my breathe, hoping for no injuries. Take the win even though unconvincing as it was.
 
Some dubious refereeing in general mostly in our favour in the first half but we get the job done

Time for Souths to beat the Roosters and lock us into third then watching the Warriors and Penrith games to see who we play

Wasn't an amazing performance we switched off once we 'had it won' up 10 and it was closer than it should have been despite the slow start but this week was always about getting out of the week with no injuries and no suspensions which we should have the 'trip' didn't connect and I don't think anyone has any injury issues so we win and go into finals full strength

Good to see the boys fight back from the slow start to win at least and yeah Knowles and Flegler have to do better than they've been doing or we have to absolutely minimise their minutes

Getting Plath back to playing in the middle will be big he is better there than second row, split the lock minutes with Donga and Plath can do the rest of his minutes in the middle hopefully in the finals to minimise Knowles/Flegler time

Souths are putting under-strength Roosters to the sword. 3rd place is ours. So Penrith or Warriors. I think most people would say they'd rather play Warriors but to win the competition, we are going to have to beat Penrith at some point. So I don't really care who we play. Week 2 or 3 of the finals at Suncorp will be huge!
 
I want it to be the Warriors I think especially if Yeo is good to go but fine either way

Team showed up to do the bare minimum and win today but got it done

As long as we show up at 100% next week i'm fine with tonight's performance despite it being fairly poor overall

Re halves without Kodi; Averillo is a pure running 6, as far as I know Williams plays pretty differently but I haven't seen him play much since he was with the Raiders
 
For the second time this season, the Dolphins spotted the GC 14 points and for the second time, the Dolphins overcame that to win by an unconvincing 4 points. The Dolphins threatened to run away with it early in the second half and if one of the four NO TRYS had been allowed, they would have. The disallowed Katoa was frigging ridiculous and I'm not totally convinced with the Lemuelu double movement either.

The Dolphins were hammered 14-6 in the P/RI count along with a woeful 15 errors. Katoa and JMK were quiet tonight. I still maintain that Flegs and Knowles are massive passengers and our forward pack will be the one thing that could prevent a premiership this year. Anyways, onto next week where the Dolphins will enter their maiden playoff appearance after compiling a very impressive 17-7 record.

I agree in principle but Flegler's second stint was much better. He racked up a few run metres. Knowles made a lot of good tackles but I continue to believe the team is much better with Plath or Donoghue starting at lock and either of those 2, barring injury, should be playing lock for the full game.
 
Donoghoe and Pouniu were the two best players by a mile struggling to find a third

Herbie was a menace for them. Pouniu was good but made a few mistakes. Donoghue was good but just missed being one of the best, IMO.
