Keep in the mind, it's not finals yet.

Dolphins Team:

  1. Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow
  2. Jamayne Isaako
  3. Jack Bostock
  4. Herbie Farnworth
  5. Tevita Naufahu
  6. Kodi Nikorima
  7. Isaiya Katoa
  8. Thomas Flegler
  9. Jeremy Marshall-King
  10. Tom Gilbert
  11. Max Plath
  12. Kulikefu Finefeuiaki
  13. Morgan Knowles

  14. Kurt Donoghoe
  15. Ray Stone
  16. Francis Molo
  17. Felise Kaufusi
  18. Brian Pouniu
  19. Brad Schneider

  20. Jake Averillo
  21. Connelly Lemuelu
  22. Sebastian Su’a

Pretty much the strongest possible team. Interesting.
Was a bit of a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. If he rests a heap of players and then we lose first game in the finals, people will say he shouldn't have rested the players. If one of them gets injured in this game, people will say he should have rested them.

Only thing to do is to keep winning.

With woolfy I reckon he might have just had a few conversations with the boys and made a decision from there, and this whole playing group is a keen one. If cobbo is out for his ankle and woolfy just asked him if he thought he needed to play then it explains the whole lot.

I don't want to bash the poor Titans, but for God's sake we can't just roll out of bed into kick off.

Of course. Getting ahead of myself just a bit.

Donoghoe: Ready to give finals a red-hot crack

Kurt Donoghoe looks ahead to the Dolphins’ final game of the regular season against the Titans as the side aims to lock in third spot on the ladder.Donoghoe also reflects on the Dolphins’ growth into a top-four side, the impact of the club’s emerging young talent and why the squad is ready to give the finals a “red-hot crack.”

Jake and Brian come into the squad for tomorrow's game, with Kodi and Kuli dropping out of the side.

I assume Averillo is still starting in the 6 not Schneider, and that we'll be giving Brian the time in 2nd row rather than rushing Lemuelu back even though he's on the bench - maybe Lemuelu gets 15mins near the end if we've only used 3 interchanges if game isn't close

Phins Up let's get it done and lock in third

These are the worst games considering that the result means very little, not to mention, the injury risk. The Dolphins are aware that they'll be making a tough road trip next weekend, regardless. I'm not sure if they have a preference as I don't particularly have one either. I guess NZ would be the better option as the home team will be under massive pressure v a team in uncharted territory for most of it's players. Penrith lift a gear this time of year and will be extremely hard to topple.

As for tonight's game, a few key players are sitting out tonight v a terrible team (as usual) with a couple of gun players (Kini, Campbell), but are not a defensive threat in the slightest. The Dolphins should score 30+ in their sleep as they roll on into the playoffs.

FTS- Naufahu
MOTM- Herbie.

Yeah without Harrison, Pascoe and Jojo I don't think the Titans have the cattle to score the 30+ they'd need to win this game

Herbie and Naufahu are going to murder that Titans right edge with the shortest winger in the comp and a repurposed fullback playing centre who are both QCup level

Also long live the Bostock streak. Entire family of Bostocks undefeated in 2026, long may it continue.

Fermor to centre, Patston 2nd row, Degroot out, Hau to bench for Titans

Averillo to five-eighth for Phins

Pretty neutral late teams news overall i'd say. Fermor isn't a centre and can't move laterally properly, can attack better than De Groot but is taken out of the 2nd row for a guy who isn't a threat and Fermor hasn't been good defensively since he did his ACL years ago etc

Should be fine, Phins Up

Everyone is looking forward to next week. Justifiably so but it would be nice if they can put this game to bed early and get Herbie, Katoa and JMK off well before fulltime.

This being so, I expect the Titans to come back late and make a game of it.

TBH, if it was against us, I'd be blowing up deluxe about that sin-binning. Seemed like a square-up for some of those very dubious 6-again calls against us early on.

First half best:

3. Herbie
2. Plath
1. Bostock

Case of the usual suspects for 3 and 2.
