What's new

K Woolf

Coming good.

Damn I was frustrated early doors.

Keep them improving

Woolf says a lot of good things here.
He's come good but I beg him, end the experiment of Plath playing hooker. We can get away with it against average teams like Bulldogs but against the top teams in the finals, I think we can't. And right now, it seems as if finals are almost assured. The way we are playing. Just need Katoa and JMK top stay healthy.

This feels like an article written just off some conversations on here and my comments on YouTube and Instagram word for word.

Anyone here had a fox reporter on the phone lately? 😂

Jokes aside it is a good article and it has all the info that made me pretty confident when he took over in 2025, despite the poor start. Glad the general NRL population is getting some proper insight into the club with things like this. Hope it makes some people think twice about how their own club is run.

I mentioned our slow start last year looked like we had a hard offseason. So that article is no surprise.

In the end. Its feel good reading. Means nothing if we dont win. All that hard work needs to translate to finals births and hopefully grand finals. Or it means nothing.

It might be feel good reading, and yes we need success, but for me it outlines things that speak of planning and decision making that focusses on long term success within the club, which does go a long way.

I just think we might have to get used to slow starts to the season. As Woolf must absolutely flog them during preseason training. Resulting in the fittest team.

I wonder how it will translate to finals footy. Will we carry that fitness. Will we burnout.

Cant wait to find out. We are lookung good at the moment though.

hes said hes never been a coach that relies on first part of year and it shows , hes a ex boxer and boxing coach so he will know w hat it takes

I don't think so. I just think JMK is our most important play right now. Really need a proper back up dummy half.

You look at the good teams there game plan revolves. Around strong half. Hooker control. Izzy us 7nder jmk n kodis control. Not other way around

your comments on what youtube ?

Yeah and Instagram. I have used pretty much all the info they used to defend Woolf when people decide to have a go at him for coming from the super league.
You can use all the stats. The only stat that really matters is wins. I get he won heaps in thr super league. Its a different level then the NRL. It would be like comparing the EPL to the A League.

A great example is Arne Slot. He won everything in the dutch league. Went to Liverpool, won the league in his first season, got sacked the season after. All to do with wins.

The only stat that really matters as a coach is wins. Last night Matt Johns described the Dolphins lineup as having origin like players everywhere. With that type of line up, to start as poorly as we did is simply not good enough if youre in a winning culture. We are flying high now and credit to Woolf, however we have a hard run home, and if ww miss the 8 by 2 points like we have in the past, that poor start will come home to roost. And questions will righrly be asked.

Im not here to give trophies to second place getters unlike current society. As a supporter I want to win. And ive always been a person that says "if you cant get the job done, find me someone that can". Life is to short to waste on hope or taking chances that someone will come good when all you see is them coming up short.

I am backing Woolf, fully support him. However, im not blinded by false hope. I will make decisions on what I see. And so far, ive seen a stacked line up fall short. To fall short again, will have me asking is change in order? And one thing I know is you dont win comps in May. So whilst he is going well now, and deserves credit, there is a long way to go yet. And im not expecting to win the comp, my pass mark has always been top8.

Realistically we did beat the Panthers of not for the worst call ever on a missed forward pass then a missed knock on in golden point. We win that game and all of a sudden people talk about us as certain top 4
I agree, but thats the point. And its kind of what I am saying, we win any of the games we drop, we are well on the way to where we should be. As you are saying.

Point is we didnt, and we continued to lose at that time.

And if someone says, "Well thats part of the plan and to kick on later in the season". I will call out bullcrap, losing is never part of the plan.

If I were running the dragons I would have sacked Flanagan minutes after he said they weren't going to win.

My point about Woolf early was he was well under-performing with the squad he has, it was the same last year, and if its going to be the same this year, next year I'm trying something different.

Smartest person to have lived - Einstien - once said "doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results is the definition of insanity". I try to live by this especially when coaching the sporting teams I have.
