What's new

2026 Squad

Youre right about the gf. He had plenty of mate in that department too
He's just obviously not a centre. But I think he might turn into a really good #9. We have to start thinking about a long term replacement for JMK. He's a really good #9 and is still relatively young but his body it seems isn't sturdy enough for the rigours of playing the in the middle for long periods.

Fair assessment.

Jmk has been more injury prone then him. Obviously.

He is probably not an optio. That fits us. Burton is also on the outer as a 6. However, not creative enough, but that suots Katoa because he has that role in our team.

Im just thinking of 6's that will allow Kodi to stay in our team and be versatile. And he has ability at 9.

Our squad is thin at 9. Hence Fine(not going to try spell it) we are aiming at top8 or higher. 9 is so important, it cant be a serviceable 9. It needs to be someone that can spearhead our pack.

6 allows kodi as a 9 back up with utility. And gives us an upgrade at 6. Kodi is generally fine at 6, however we are then light at 9.

This is why I have been banging on about a 6. With kodi at 14. We are then balanced across the park and almost injury resistant. Injuries are ehats stopping our progression.

Another year of injuries will make me start calling into quesion our training. We started slow last year. This is a big year for Woolf in my eyes

Burton has a good long kicking game but other than that, a rubbish 5/8. Good centre.

Agree completely. Kodi has been good for us as a 5/8 but I still think his best position is #14.

thsts what makes the call on williams coming we must be losing more than ben as he won't want to be coming here to sit outta the 17

If Williams is our starting 5/8th next year, im concerned. Happy to be wrong.
Another one of those signings I can't make sense of right now. Williams is a veteran halfback as far as I've seen him play. But happy to wait and see what plan Woolf has,

I'm probably looking at this with too much of a meathead outlook but I have really been wondering what plath would look like with total commitment to development at 9. You won't lose anything in defence from day one, in fact our already tough pack probably gets even tougher, but of course some spark and some speed in attack is gone with Jmk, but with time I wonder if plath could build towards that.

Frankly I just want the meanest of mean packs which has to include tougher players built to withstand hard games, ie plath and jyd starting and a stacked bench, plus Kodi at 6 and so on.

Again, meathead, but we've got the cattle and we've got the skill where it can be done.
