Pretty tough first half of the season. A great challenge for this ever improving organisation.

What do you think of the timing for the Dolphins byes?

None before Origin where they play Raiders, Roosters & Knights good news for the Fuller for fullback supporters.

One of the byes comes after Origin.

Hammer is the only player who’ll 100% certain be in Origin with Flegler, Gilbert & Plath outside chances pending on their returns from injury and form/injuries of the Queensland incumbents. Daley won’t have the sense to consider let alone select Katoa, Saifiti or Donoghoe so they'll be with Dolphins.

  • Manly are in a transition period. Jake and Tom Trbojevic are shadows of the players they were a few years ago.
  • I'm baffled how they have the Sharks in second place! Why?
  • Penrith will continue to slide. A few of their big guns are slipping. Yeo, Martin and Edwards. But I think still make the 8.
  • I'm baffled why the Warriors are rated so lowly. They were flying with a young team before their Dally M leading halfback did his ACL.
  • Of course they never rate the Dolphins. But in a way, I can understand it. Even with all the injuries, the defence for a lot of games last year was unacceptable.

SOS is still there as well. And Tom Gilbert listed as a prop.

Gilbert better pack on the KGs to become a prop or he might find himself playing for Redcliffe.

Agree on Manly and I'm not as sold on Fogarty as others he got exposed in the finals.
Sharks always get soft draws & favourable refereeing calls.
Penrith have 3 players on the slide as you mentioned they also have a few on the rise notably McLean, Talagi and Smith their junior system isn't as strong as the foundations of what Gus setup has dried up.
Agree on the Warriors.
I think a lot of pundits don't expect Flegler to return or Gilbert to play more than a few games and agree on your comments with Dolphins.

Generally it's always 2-3 teams into the 8 and 2-3 teams out of the 8.

A player who hasn't been assigned a position is always listed below the coach in a blank area. Pouniu is a second rower.

Gus's set up? Is that a joke? They were going nowhere until Cleary sidelined Gus, "encouraging" him to resign.

Gus didn't set up anything. Ivan Cleary is a master coach. I get how they can doubt Gilbert getting through a lot of games but no reason to think Flegler won't play a lot of games.

But after some of the defensive displays last season, I can understand them not really rating us.
