I'm sure Jake would play there if the coach told him that's what he wanted. Most players want to play in a spine position if they can. More money.
i just think hes just happy filling in

Jake might find it hard to be selected for round 1. With a full pre-season training at 5/8, he might push Kodi to the bench.

lol kodi nor jake will be losing there spot didn't last year won't again. no way they have bostock trai hammer all together as none them have defense

our defence comes from our centres in the backs so no way hammer going be there all the time not even sure selwyn be there much either

as no way hammer seleyn or jack or jaymane or trai be doing double figure tackles week in week out like herbie

Outside backs typically only make around 10~15 tackles a game. How many they make is utterly irrelevant. It's how many they miss which matters. None of Bostock, Fuller or Hammer miss many.

Centre's make more yes I know this hence why. I said it both. Jake n herbie average 15 or more a game n tgey ain't going have Jake sitting out dont care wgat media thinks just to put tra in

Why? Hammer is also a good defender. Fuller is also but sometimes when the opposing player is running to the side and on the try line, the smaller defender won't be able to stop the momentum for a try. He's also suspect under bombs. Not because he can't catch the ball but because taller opposition players jump over the top.

Look for the number of missed tackles attributed to Hammer vs the number he made. I don't have the stats in front of me but I'm sure he is a good defender in the centres of fullback.
His defence in Origin has always been immaculate

Hammer is an excellent defender. He doesn't put on big hits so often won't stop an atracker one on one om the line but very few backs do.

Defending at centre is the most technical and hardest place to defend.

Hammer seems to do well in State of Origin defensively, its why he is picked there religiously. I'm sure if he was poor defensively there, he wouldnt be picked, because its defense that wins origin games.

Looks like you're on your own here about Hammer's defence in Origin.

The side who scored the most points this year didn't make the NRL finals so it just might be the defensive coaching at Dolphins.

Hammer lifts another level defensively at Origin.

If someone were to say Feagai and Isaako are poor defenders, I mean seriously! Sometimes, the game against the Roosters and I think the second last game. Can't remember it enough but remember is was just woeful. Feagai and Isaako were having a laugh or something. It was ridiculous! In most of the games we had big scores put on us, Hammer was out or fullback.
