oh for sure but he would need a upgrade to be in the side and to be in starting side nrl need see they really do need him , ie last resort , even now you cant put them in a upgraded contract to 30 without showing they last resort

as in example in lodge and jack they were lacking replacements with junior n max still there nrl be asking questions

No Geoffrey it's open slather as of this week they get 3k a game match payment and only get upgraded to dev deals after they get to 3 NRL games.

Yes but you can pick from players outside your Top 36 from Round 11 as Manly have done naming Lodge and Canterbury with Underhill just two examples as soon as Round 11 came Lodge was straight into the Manly squad.

Players outside the Top 36 can play NRL from Round 11. They get paid 3k per game and get activated to a development deal after 3 games by the time they generally get to the 3rd game more than half sometimes 3/4 of a total season (Nov 1 to Oct 31) is already gone so it's not much out of the cap.

This year Dolphins haven't selected anyone outside the Top 30 in the final 18 aside from Tevita Naufahu against Canberra and they had Aublix Tawha in the 22 for a game but he wasn't in the final 18.

Last year Dolphins used Trai Fuller and Lachlan Hubner who were out of the Top 30. Fuller was upgraded to a Development deal pretty quickly and Hubner played his third game when he played against the Bulldogs very late in the season. The only Development player to be in the final 17 for an NRL game last year was Kurt Donoghoe.

In 2023 they used Trai Fuller and Brayden McGrady for 1 game each outside the Top 36 and none of the Development players were used as Harrison Graham and Jack Bostock originally on Dev and Kurt Donoghoe a Capras train & trial all promoted to Top 30 to fill the 29 quota needed for Round 1.
