The club is apparently still interested in Blaize Talangi. I know there is a lot of media speculation and fullback is just about the last position we have to worry about, noting Trai Fuller has been extended but the same media reports are actually saying fullback or 5/8 but writing off 5/8 due to the fact Parra already have a young, very highly paid 5/8. I forget his name. Dylan ***********. From what I've seen, I think he might be best at centre. I haven't seen any good ball skills from him but I haven't watched much of Parra play. Apparently in the juniors he was a very good 5/8.

What I was told was 5/8th. And you'd imagine center as a fall-back option. Making signing him relatively low risk, because he brings options.

Canterbury wants to hold further talks to determine whether Utoikamanu has a genuine interest in moving to Belmore.

Utoikamanu is unlikely to sign with the Dolphins after previously being linked with Canberra at St George Illawarra.

It now appears a two-club race between the Bulldogs and Storm.

Bulldogs general manager Phil Gould is a known master in negotiating.

Dogs have a number of players on overs. They already apparently have salary cap issues.

And they'd have to pay at least part of the salary of those leaving for the duration of their contracts.

That's not how it works. If no other club is willing to buy out all or part of their contract, they remain on that clubs salary cap until the contract is finished. Apparently St George did it with Daniel Saifiti yesterday. Bought out 2/3rds of his contract with Newcastle putting in 1/3. So that's 1/3 comes out of Newcastle's salary cap for the next 2 years.

'Belongs in the NRL’: Dolphins gun lands upgraded deal

Dolphins dynamo Trai Fuller has signed a two-year deal with the club as a just reward for his explosive performances in 2024.

The contract elevates him to the Dolphins top 30 full-time squad for the 2025 and 2026 seasons.

Debuting in Round 25 last year, Fuller scored a trademark individual try on debut with the 27-year-playing even better in 2024, appearing in nine matches while deputising at fullback or as an impact player off the bench.

Growing up in the Queensland country town of Eidsvold, 430 kilometres north of Brisbane, he made his way to the Dolphins as a teenager after a stint with the Broncos under-20s team and became an immediate hit in the Queensland Cup with Redcliffe as part of the 2018 premiership team.

Happy about this. I hope Wolff makes him into a utility coming on to give JMK a rest or fill in for an injury in the backs. His front on defence is good. Actually, his defence is good period.

Right. Just a rumour in the media but apparently both clubs are keen for it to happen.
