So in training recently Hammer has been at Fullback, Niko in the halves, Niu on the wing and Te Whare in the centres. I wonder if all the recent experiments have now been stopped by Wayne?

I think this is the best team except for Niko. I'd have Milf there and Niko on the bench. I know Milf had a shocker last game but he wasn't alone. Hopefully over the past month, Te Whare has improved his match-fitness. So he isn't a turnstile in the latter part of each half.

I agree but I'd also have Katoa in place of SOS. Niko to come at hooker to give Graham a rest. If JMK is still out injured.

Just our luck. Bulldogs set to field their strongest team of the season.

BULLDOGS v DOLPHINS

Sunday, 2pm, Salter Oval, Bundaberg

Bulldogs:
The Bulldogs are set to welcome back a host of stars to face the Dolphins.
  • Jacob Preston will likely return on the edge after missing the loss to Penrith with the flu.
  • Viliame Kikau is a chance to return for his first game since Round 4, likely off the bench.
  • Josh Addo-Carr will continue his push to return from a hamstring injury on the wing.
  • Toby Sexton will return from a concussion in the halves, with Jake Averillo likely shifting to fullback, and Hayze Perham dropping out of the team.
  • Karl Oloapu is due back from a neck concern in coming weeks.
Dolphins:
  • Jeremy Marshall-King will push to return from a shoulder injury at hooker in place of Harrison Graham.
  • Tesi Niu may replace Valynce Te Whare on the wing if cleared to return from injury.

Dolphins team:

  1. Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow
  2. Jamayne Isaako
  3. Euan Aitken
  4. Valynce Te Whare
  5. Tesi Niu
  6. Kodi Nikorima
  7. Sean O’Sullivan
  8. Jesse Bromwich
  9. Jeremy Marshall-King
  10. Mark Nicholls
  11. Felise Kaufusi
  12. Connelly Lemuelu
  13. Kenny Bromwich

  14. Herman Ese’ese
  15. Josh Kerr
  16. Anthony Milford
  17. Jarrod Wallace

  18. Isaiya Katoa
  19. Harrison Graham
  20. Poasa Faamausili
  21. Max Plath
  22. Jack Bostock

I don't really understand what Benny is doing. I'm glad he has move the Hammer back to fullback but the team was playing its best footy with Milf at 5/8 and Niko on the bench. IMO should go with that again. Except for Gilbert and mercifully Brenko Lee, this could be the exact team that was looking at a top 4 finish in the middle of the season.

Minus Katoa and Stone as well. This backline has looked it's slickest when Katoa and KNik were in the halves. Kodi makes things happen with his speed. I'd rather see Milf in the 7. SOS just doesn't possess the skills required at this level IMO.

Good catch. WTF is wrong with Ray Stone? Don't tell me he's been dropped. Katoa has been in and out. Mostly in but out, either on the bench or out of the 17 a few times. Though in the middle part of the season when the team was cruising, he was in.

Milf long kicking is also so much better than Katoa, SOS, Niko and JMK.

Stone is injured. Can't remember what type though. I think he broke his wrist. Out for 6 weeks.

I can’t agree, sorry. SOS is a quality halfback and was already being considered one of the buys of the year before he was injured in Round 4. SOS, Hammer and JMK are 75% of one of the best spines in the comp - if only we could get them all fit and on the field together. As for 6, take your pick - Kodi, Milf and Katoa all have plenty to offer but, for mine, this week’s combination is the best available combination at this stage of the season

Yeh, sorry - I didn’t realise until just now that I was treading a well worn path with my choice of name. I concede I am the impostor - DolphinLungren is the OG
Well they say great minds think alike, but if you really do think SOS was considered one of the buys of the season before he was injured, I am not so sure.

Anyways welcome to the forum, I thought you were trolling copying my name and the like :)

The only thing that is certain is that SOS had a shocker against Penrith about 10 days ago.

No need to say sorry. I just didn't realise if it was someone copying DolphinLungren DolphinLungren or not.

As for SOS, before he was injured I thought he was good but some way behind JMK and Gilbert. Hasn't been great since coming back from injury.
