Round 24: Dolphins vs Manly Sea Eagles

I do in hindsight as well but at the time, thought it's better to go for a try.
They always settle a lot better once some points are on the board. I noticed this in the Sharks & Knights losses the Sharks game obviously spiraled out of control but their blitz started as soon as Dolphins turned down the 2 and than bombed a try.

I'm also a fan of taking the 1 in the last few mins. Simply you get the point, then you lose 30-60 seconds off the clock while setting up for the kick and then usually get the ball back so can tick off another 45-60 seconds. If they go deep you get the ball if short its easy to get into position and go for 1 again and waste more time.

So top 8 secured for the first time. Season has been well not exactly smooth. The next few weeks can now be more relaxed ahead of the playoffs.

Fantastic defensive effort today, attack didn't quite click at all times but to hold Manly to 0 after defensive issues last week shows we're a real threat even if Manly played badly

Hopefully Lemuelu is okay for finals

Big loss with Donoghue also out. The good news is that Parra are next up and they might be the worst team as of right now. WIth Dragons and GC improving.

A bit scrappy at times with an attack that never hit it's stride tonight. But, I can live with that. They withstood the early pressure and controlled it for the last 50 minutes. They blanked the team that scored 50+ on them last time out. Manly haven't been shut-out at home for 40 years. The Dolphins are now sporting an impressive 14-7 record. Who would have thought that was possible after starting 2-5?

Lemuelu's injury is a real drag in a club short on edge forwards. We could use Oryn right about now. Parra in town next weekend where the Dolphins may provide some fireworks.
