Round 23: Dolphins vs Brisbane Broncos

That try against the run of play after 25min really saved us. It was about to be 30-0.

First set of the second half set the scene. We marched up field a bit over 60m easily.

Connelly Lemuelu has just gotten better n better every game he plays for us

One thing for certain. The best lock on the field was Plath. Second Donoghue. Third was a toss-up between Carrigan and Knowles.
That would be my rotation, and if you need 3, bring one up from the youth system.

The only headache is who you start? Because both provide awesome impact coming on when fatigue starts to set in.

I argue that Knowles is the 5th best lock at the club. John Fineanganofo is getting better every week he’ll be too good to keep out next year.

He might be 5/8.
Knowles and Flegler shouldn't be on the field at the same time. Both have strong carries and hit hard front on but are a bit lacking with lateral movement.

You think Knowles could transition into front row?

That would make the recruitment understandable
In the modern fast game Knowles could definitely be a prop. We have talked about how this progression into speed and fatigue ongoing will mean plath, donga, stoney, and even Gilbert get more time in the middle, and Knowles would fit that mould as well. Perhaps with our current team in the fastest possible game you would start Knowles and Gilbert for a long stint, with stoney and someone else finishing the game off, or just play the wildest prop/lock combo of Plath, donga, and stoney for as long as you like since they are literally the fittest 3 players in our entire club and they are mongrels plus, to differing extents, ball players.

I think last night's game might be a genuine start to a charge into finals. To think woolfy didn't panic despite the score, brought the bench on as per usual, and from that point conceded 8 and posted up 40 on a team that completely emptied the tank in their most important game of the year cannot be understated. If he was confident and calm that whole time and the team on the field kept their heads, which it seemed they did despite the run of play, then they should go into the rest of their games knowing the plan works no matter how bad things are going, with the caveat that this doesn't work at kayo stadium. This was happening at different points when we were going well earlier this year as well, running down teams and staying calm.

It's risky but must feel good when you win.
