The irony is that we and the Roosters are almost certainly going to be the 2 teams most affected by Origin. So who has the better depth and who which coach gets his players fired up for the game?
I have no idea about the Roosters but we'll have:
  • Hammer > Fuller
  • Cobbo > Naufahu
  • Flegler > Kaufusi
  • Plath > Donoghue and Su'a onto the bench
  • Finefeuiaki > Keeley
Which are some pretty decent back ups TBH. Kaufusi will retire and Fuller is content to be a backup rather than go to another club on a short-term deal but I suspect the other 3 will be in first grade next year.

Donoghue has come on great. Cut the errors out etc. The worry I have is we recruited Knowles. You cant keep all 3 and expect to resign Herbie, Bostock etal. To find space in the cap you need to let some go to keep others. As good as Knowles has been, id rather we hadnt signed him, leaving cap space for Herbie and Bostock.

Now your faced with losing Donoghue from a stacked position.

It will be interesting to see how they work it. Maybe Saifiti, Kaufusi salaries being off the books gives us relief.

For mine Bostock and Herbie are must resigns.

Donoghue is signed for longer than Knowles. If one has to go, I think it'll be Knowles.

i doubt morgan will go after two season they keep them now why not keep them when contract up

I doubt he will either but I doubt more Donoghue or Plath will go before him.
going be really intresting especailly with the fsct they play brain p in the forwards in qld cup now guess that depend where he ends up in the forwards or backs in nrl if kurt n plath stay really do think they must be looking for a stronger back up hooker

Keeley joins Melbourne in '27. S'ua can't stay healthy long enough to make a determination on him. I'd say he gets lost in the shuffle somewhere.

Depending on how the rest of the season goes, Knowles might head home after a year. He wouldn't be the first Brit to cut short his contract. He has been solid the past 2-3 games, but the Dolphins are much more lethal with Donga or Plath assuming the lock position.

Others might know better. Donga and Plath are both just as good, younger, and probably on less. I dont see how you keep Knowles over those two in any situation.

Unless Knowles is on a bargain base deal.

Knowles is going nowhere, your obsession with him is really bad. The lad has done nothing wrong his line speed and work rate in defence are as good if not better than most.

He has done nothing wrong. He is actually playing very well. So not personal. My issue is we have 3 players for that position. And before Gilbert's transition we had 4.

And I dont want to lose Herbie or Bostock because we are over the cap, carrying close to 4 locks.
