It's firming by the day that Fuller will win a round 1 position and Averillo no where to be seen.

the fact herbie loves playing with jake i don't see him going anywhere ( the rumors about him going to uk were all made up ) even if selwyn does stay which i belive is true theres no way trai would be getting starting sport we have to have a strong bottom 13 too

I'm a massive Averillo supporter I was one of the few Bulldogs fans that supported him at Bulldogs and was happy he ended up at Dolphins after Gus flicked him but there's already been rumours about leaving, the club has made no effort to re-sign him for 2027 and he's currently on leave in Japan. Just an opinion that I don't think he'll be at the club in 2027 and every chance maybe 2026 so I don't see him being part of the Top 13 plans except as a backup.

I do believe Fuller and Hammer being in the 13 together in 2026 from Round 1 is every possibility. I know you're weren't a Redcliffe Dolphins fan so you don't like Fuller and don't understand players who peak later in their careers but you need to accept he's a bonafide NRL player these days.

Cobbo is in a battle with Naufahu for the second wing spot and Cobbo needs to go well in the trials as Tevita showed in his 7 games there's a lot of promise and scored 6 tries.

Picking 1-17's now is a fruitless and pointless exercise as so much can happen between now and second trial.

I hope so but in professional sport so much changes and coaches minds change as well when different players emerge, salary cap begins to bite and roster regeneration has to happen meaning clubs/coaches need to make decisions on who stays, who gets promoted and who misses out.

Averillo will attract bigger offers from Bears & Dragons that Dolphins won't match as they've got Herbie, Hammer, Katoa & unfortunately Williams on big coin already in the backs.

Every single person spoke so highly of Kenny Bromwich at Dolphins and rightly so he was a great asset for the club but didn't stop Woolf only picking him for 2 games in 2025 even despite the forward injuries. Aublix Tawha was one player picked over Bromwich and he got moved on at seasons end.

You supported the game for a while so you know a lot can change even in less than half a season and coaches more than anyone can change their views after what they see at training, see in games, how players perform, what difference players make on/off the field, etc.

A good example was Junior Tupou the original plan was that he was going to be left wing and so much footage of club training had Tupou/Bostock left edge with Herbie/Isaako right edge as they finished the 2024 season and was flicked from the club before June 30.

O'Sullivan was backed right in as the replacement for Nikorima when he had the hamstring injury 1.5 weeks later when the 22 gets trimmed to 19 O'Sullivan was only dropped as 5/8 he misses the 19 the change of mind happened so fast worked out well Naufahu was very solid on the wing pulled off a great hit that saw Averillo score a 90m try from a loose ball and Averillo had his best game of 2025 playing at 5/8 vs Cowboys.

The only two reporters that cover Dolphins one was on break until yesterday and the other has been assigned to the Cricket Ashes he made a one off return to NRL just for the Flegler return and I assume will be there next week for Cobbo's first official session.

I do see there's every chance Fuller is in the starting side from Round 1 whether that's fullback, wing or centre we'll see in the trials.

I do believe Hammer is a Top 5 centre along with Crichton, Staggs, Herbie & McLean and his support player is brilliant.
