Round 22: Dolphins v NZ Warriors

Plath has been injured for a lot of the year and was an edge backrower for the early part which was a big mistake by Woolf in hindsight. You are forgetting how good he was last year or this year when he was moved back to lock. Donoghue will be a utility coming on to give Plath a break and probably staying on to give JMK a break.
Injuries play a part in squads never once have Dolphins had a full 1-17 on the field what is good is that Averillo, Donoghoe and Plath all cover more than one position and one role within a side. Those 3 players are totally priceless to a club and all certain to be in any future best available Dolphins team unless injured or suspended.

Would I ever start Plath on the edge? Never. Could Plath move there in a game if an injury or HIA happens? Yes at a pinch in a game.

What's been most impressive about Dolphins this year after the emergence of Katoa has been seeing Naufahu & Tawha debut a good tick for the pathways is working, players like Walsh, Rasmussen & Nonu on Top 30 for next year another tick for the confidence in the pathways & players like Donoghoe & Keeley taking the next step considerable time in the affiliate sides & also NSW Cup for Keeley and NRLQ a big tick for Dolphins.

When a club brings through or upgrades players from the pathways or the systems within with confidence it shows the club is working well. This has been one of the catalysts for Penrith's success since Gould set it all up and also a driving success for the Storm after they initially started the Norths Devils partnership long-time back.

Back to tonight I don't expect any late 1-17 changes unless something drastic happens. Woolf said in his presser yesterday that Nikorima came through the captains run.

working well because they started in other clubs systems bar walsh n trai n harrison lj rest had experience in other system hence we got feeder teams to show some of the players life in other systems as they grow more our curent crop of local talent that started in club juniors are still a while away as for players there because they play three postions notice he hasnt used them again , i give you 500$ if kurt starts in backs more than 3 games in a row

to be brutal dolphins pathways needed to improve prior to getting the nrl side the qld cup team hadnt gone well for over 10 years

Plath won't start on the edge again unless someone is injured mid-game or have another injury crisis such as this. But at the time Woolf wanted to fit him and Gilbert in the starting side.

yup with Morgan now here i dont see it happening with the rise of the two from dogs juniors here it be intresting to see how much time john gets in 1st grade

If he plays well to start when he comes back he will be starting Lock, Kurt's versatility will make him 14.

Agree with you totally.

So we agree Josh :)

A vital match for both teams. The hosts are barely clinging to the top 4 and the visitors are desperate to remain in the top 8 and possibly climb. Both sides with injury concerns. The Warriors are missing their two best forwards and half their spine. The Dolphins are having an injury crisis of their own, but incredibly have hung in there. I expect this game to be in the balance for a good portion before the league's newest team puts it to bed in the final 20 or so.

Dolphins by 20
FTS- Donoghoe
MOTM- Hammer.

I love your summaries.

Fins by 32

Motm - Katoa

FTS - JMK

Kodi to score try any time ( phins 13 plus )

man match hammer

  • Dolphins by 14 (couple of consolation tries to NZ.)
  • FTS: Herbie
  • MoM: Herbie
Since Matt said Crighton was the best centre since Reg Gasnier, maybe before, Herbie has gone to another level.

1 from 3 but looks like Phins by 14 is way too optImistic..... for NZ.

FFS, this is ridiculous. Who has been using voodoo on the Dolphins?

At least the path is now open for Kodi 5/8, Averillo centre.

Frank Molo had been good. Doesn't get a lot of wraps but been doing his job well without Saifiti, Flegler.

Bittersweet for Matt. Keeley scored but Dolphins are winning.
