I never mentioned getting rid of Tom Gilbert others did. I will say on Gilbert I do see his days as Dolphins first choice lock are probably over due to the emerge of Kurt Donoghoe as a genuine second 5/8 style of lock that frees up Izzy Katoa with a very high defensive work-rate and also Max Plath who I see as a player who covers lock, hooker and lesser extent second row with very high effectiveness.
Off contract end of 2026:
1 Connelly Lemuelu (2026) SRF
2 Francis Molo (2026) PF
3 Herbie Farnworth (2026) CTR
4 Jake Averillo (2026) Utility-back
5 Jamayne Isaako (2026) WG
6 James Walsh (2026) CTR SRF
7 Kodi Nikorima (2026) FE
8 Max Feagai (2026) CTR
9 Oryn Keeley (2026) SRF LF
10 Ray Stone (2026) LF
11 Selwyn Cobbo (2026) WG CTR FB
12 Trai Fuller (2026) FB
That doesn't include Felise Kaufusi who's yet to officially re-sign.
Among those off contract end of 2026 will include Molo who's 32 next year, Stone who's 29 next year and Kaufusi where if he plays next year will be his swansong. Kerr if he re-signs will be 30 next year.
Others mentioned swapping Gilbert for Haas not me and I've never ever suggested that. All I've said is the only Broncos player I would consider signing is Haas and I will now add at a value Dolphins deem a good fit, force the Broncos to pay overs for him not take him for granted and in any case North Sydney will offer massive overs for Haas.
Whilst Broncos have the best team on paper all the other players aren't even worth bothering with as Dolphins either have the position covered nicely or not a good fit into the club. Haas is the ONLY exception to everything he would be an awesome fit at Dolphins if the price is right but not at the expense of Gilbert as others have suggested.
Of those 12 the top 2 priorities are Farnworth and Averillo.
