I think playing Plath out of position is annoying him. Gilbert has to be a lightweight prop like Cotter to allow Plath to play lock. Then there is also the Hammer problem. He's not a marquee fullback. Has the occasional freakish try but as we see here once again, the best fullbacks set many more tries up than they score themselves.
