Too early to call this must win but to lose the first two games against who I think almost everyone would agree are two of the weaker teams, will be a massive problem.

In the last round last year, Ponga tore us a new one. If Hammer plays like he did last week again, I think Woolf must either drop Averillo or move him to 5/8, Kodi on the bench, move Donoghue to fullback and Hammer to centre.

Hammer looks a bit wasted at fullback. I know he scores some long distance tries but the best fullbacks set up much more than they score. Not the case for Hammer.

Who should be fullback with Fuller absent?

Hammer had a bad game along with a number of others but too soon to take this drastic step yet. I think it is anyway. Averillo's best position might be fullback and of course 2 257Matt's favourite, Kurt Donoghue is not a utility. He is useless coming on in the forwards. He's either 5/8, fullback or not in the 17.

Lemuelu and Finefuiaki both out this week.. will be an even tougher game. Would love to see James Walsh get some game time but probably won’t happen

Donga has become the new Tesi Niu of the Dolphins the player fans absolutely love to hate regardless of what he does and he was one of the Dolphins better players on Friday night there weren't that many.

Every club has the player fans love to hate with Bulldogs it's Salmon no matter what good he does he gets attacked.

Teams have worked out how to stop Hammer at the back and he's not creative to have a Plan B. As soon as Payten gets the bullet from Cowboys I do expect Hammer to agitate for a release from Dolphins.

Please don't words to me I never stated. Donoghue is a good player. But he's not a utility due to all the good utilities being able to play hooker. Donoghue is a rubbish hooker. Good 5/8 or fullback. If I say Hammer is a rubbish prop, that doesn't mean I love to hate Hammer.

Keeley named in the second row

Kerr retained in 17

Nikorima and Nicholls back

Bromwich misses out on 17

Tupou kept his spot after last weeks horror show

Newcastle unchanged

I think Newcastle will win and win easy but I made 2 predictions before the season started once Keeley gets into the team he'll stay there for good.

Tawha is in the 22

I'm really happy for Keeley and I did predict before the season started once he gets into the 17 he'll stay there.

I thought he'd start there and stay unless injured.

He had some off season surgery and I suspected he was not going to get first shot. I correctly predicted Donoghue play round one and Keeley once he gets a shot will stay there. Bostock injury meant we never really saw what would have happened to Averillo.

i think you will find hes only getting time for three reasons , ( nor because of his ability)

connie wouldnt be 100% fit ( now the injury )
keeluy in same vote as connie
and hes hardly going play all props on the bench was case no one else there to use as there be only another prop or a hooker
missing three key forwards would see way diffrent bench ( plus the other forwards in 30 aint ready , n its case having to name them in wider squad because no one else

hardly rocket science hes this early used under circumstances with guys like morgan inbound he would need huge season to be regular next season

i reckon over this season we will see more depth signings

I rate Kurt D but I think you are right. Unless he can suddenly start playing well at hooker giving JMK a rest and injury cover for any backline player, he won't see out the season in first grade. Unless Hammer keeps stinking it up like he did last week and Woolf decides to move him to the centres.
