Here is the one we have been waiting for. The all-conquering Bulldogs, fittest of the fit with the best centre since Reg Gasnier, the best coach since..... .I don't know. Best ever? The super administrator Phillip Ronald Gould and his unlimited supply of guaranteed profitable pubs (how imaginitive of him). The steroid-munching centre and the biggest grub since Michael Ennis, also a Bulldogs player for a while. At the beginning of their record breaking 12 premierships in a row.

Against our pwor liddle Dolphins. Surely we will get Saifiti back but lose Gilbert. I didn't realise how much work Gilbert did around the middle. As soon as he went off, Warriors started rolling through the middle. JMK will be back too but with Woolf gettIng much more out of Donoghue than Bennett ever could, JMK isn't as big a loss as he was the last 2 years.

Early prediction:
  • Dolphins by 10
  • MoM: JMK
  • First try: Herbie

Bulldogs of course too fit, too disciplined, absolutely connected and have depth where the players play for each other and trusts the man next to them.

So make your prediction specific. I see Bulldogs at the top of their game. This is as good as they will get. And it won't be good enough. Just my views.

Dogs will be without Crighton and KIng. We will be without Hammer, Gilbert, Flegler, Plath but hopefully get Saifiti and JMK back. That should be enough for a good, 16 point Dolphins win.

Bulldogs have the following confirmed out: Crichton (origin), King (origin), Mann (origin), Kiraz (injured), Salmon (injured), Suluka-Fifita (HIA), Todd (injured), Tupouniua (suspended).

They get Curran back from suspension still no word on Hughes or Tuala return.

Who plays fullback for Hammer?

Dolphins withdrew both Keeley and O'Sullivan from the Norths side yesterday but both Feagai and Tupou played on Saturday for Redcliffe and Hammer was always a certain selection in the Queensland side so Dolphins would have pulled a player out in advance.

JMK, Plath, Saifiti and Fuller are all due back in the next 1-3 weeks.

I remember last year Fuller didn't play a QCup game in the same situation as he was going to be picked for NRL the following week.

Averillo fullback, Tupou centre.

If we thrashed Melbourne, we can most certainly thrash this grubby bunch. But need Saifiti and JMK back.

Canterbury are never out of contests that’s what makes them so good in 2025 there’s a reason they’re 9-1 and almost certain to be 10-1 before heading into another bye. You will notice on Thursday the connection, desperation, constant line speed and fitness they have. Burton has the best kicking game he will torment Averillo, Isaako and Bostock like he done with the Roosters wingers last week.
