Australian team:
Mitch Barnett * New Zealand Warriors

Matt Burton Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs

Bradman Best * Newcastle Knights

Patrick Carrigan Brisbane Broncos

Xavier Coates * Melbourne Storm

Lindsay Collins Sydney Roosters

Reuben Cotter North Queensland Cowboys

Angus Crichton Sydney Roosters

Tom Dearden * North Queensland Cowboys

Dylan Edwards Penrith Panthers

Harry Grant (vc) Melbourne Storm

Ben Hunt St George Illawarra Dragons

Zac Lomax * St George Illawarra Dragons

Liam Martin Penrith Panthers

Mitch Moses * Parramatta Eels

Cameron Murray South Sydney Rabbitohs

Reece Robson * North Queensland Cowboys

Lindsay Smith * Penrith Panthers

Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow Dolphins

Tom Trbojevic Manly Warringah Sea Eagles

Isaah Yeo (c) Penrith Panthers

* denotes debut

Congrats to Hammer. Penrith's bench prop in the squad. No surprises other than that. Ponga missed on for reasons other than form.

I guess surprised Tedesco wasn't the back up fullback. Ponga was the fullback and Edwards back up on form but thought Tedesco deserved to be ahead of Trbojevic.

Penriths bench prop shouldn't be in the squad.

Congrats for Jamayne Isaako and Kodi Nikorima for being selected in the NZ squad.

It's not the best result. Only have 3 players involved. I thought maybe Katoa deserved the nod over Ben Hunt. They already have Robson and Grant to play hooker. What do they need Ben Hunt for? I can only guess halfback and I'm much prefer Katoa than Hunt as a halfback.

Katoa has had a mixed game. Controlled general play very well guiding Tonga around the field. But his short kicking, which he has gotten a lot of practice with due to his excellent long kicking, has been atrocious.

Was Hammer MoM in last nights game? He will start the season at fullback due to Fullers injury but centre is his best position.

I was watching the game and at first wondered who Isa-ako was. They way they were pronouncing his name. If you think about it, that way seems to match the spelling much better. If it was spelled the way we pronounce it, it would be Issako. He played well. Probably a bit better than Hammer.

3. HAMISO TABUAI-FIDOW — 6

Didn’t see much of the ball in the first half but defended well when the Kiwis swung the ball to the right side of the field. Combined with Coates to deny a Jamayne Isaako try but was unusually quiet overall, recording only 51 running metres.

2. JAMAYNE ISAAKO — 7

Carried the ball well from the back, hitting it up 15 times for a total of 106 running metres. He also scored one try, whilst coming desperately close to crossing for a second after a floated Shaun Johnson pass landed him in space.

14. KODI NIKORIMA — N/A

Nikorima took the field in the dying stages off the clash, touching the ball once and making four tackles.

Kodi will probably find himself at 5/8 for the remainder of the series. Nicoll-Klokstad at 5/8 was probably the worst player on the field.

I've not seen this weekends games yet. But last week Isaako and hammer looked on top form. Milf Turned out for Samoa against England and frankly looked awful.

Milf is now officially a former Dolphins player. I haven't been watching except NZ vs Aus but I read England have been very good. If last time NZ won and this time England win...... I guess we can say international RL is back on.

Well as a long suffering Wales RL fan (I'm not welsh but that's a different story) i don't really care what England do. But if it wasn't for pretty harsh refereeing they would have lost to Samoa, (again)

I think we can safely say Herbie is the best centre in the world right now.

Tom Turbo is a very good centre and fullback. Hammer is a very handy centre as well. But I think you are right. I think up to now Manu was considered the best centre.
