Even though Grant is obviously a much better hooker, I think JMK is a bigger loss for the respective teams. Because they have a very good utility who I presume is his replacement. While we'll have to move Plath which I don't agree with. I'd go with Kodi and reshuffle the backline or Harrison Graham. Plath will be sorely missed as a lock and isn't very good as a hooker.
H wasn't even named in the 22.

Plath starting at 9 confirmed on NRL website

Terrible time for a game. Can I keep it together for the 80min? Even if Dolphins are handily losing? Melbourne are seriously good this year. At present I can't see any side getting near them. If Broncos are firing to the best of their individual ability, maybe but still the Broncos spine even at full strength is far inferior to Melbournes. Apart from Haas, Melbourne have their measure across the rest of the field also.

At least we will bwe able to say, "the Dolphins were beating Melbourne." But to be serious, after 6 min, they are going quite well. Melbourne have already put a try or two on most teams by this stage.

Should've waited 3 more minutes. They scored off the first chance they got down our end.

As for Melbournes third try, a bit before Coats was away but slowed down intentionally so that the dropped ball from us wouldn't be reviewed. We would need everything to go our way but calls like that make it almost impossible.

So Plath is out. I guess we don't have to worry about what to do with him and Gilbert in the 17. At least for a bit. I don't know what happened to Plath but not HIA so cold be serious. As in, more than a few weeks.

In the first half, Herbie (as usual), Katoa and Finefuikaki are standouts.

To summarise, the first half could have been much worse. based on this, we are going to beat a lot of teams this year. In theory anyway. It's possible that every team is so far behind the Storm, it's basically a competition for second place.

Kerr leading the metre count (62) amongst Dolphin forwards and he's only been on 14 min. The Dolphins have a sniff here. Melbourne look a touch vulnerable in spots. The Plath injury is a real bummer. Looking at an extended layoff.

Just before our latest try, I was thinking how well Donoghue has played at dummy half.
