2026 Finals

This has come around fast. I think this game will be harder than the GF is we win. I think we can break down Penriths low risk, high % game and Newcastle must be tired by now. They've already played 2 sudden death games.

We are in trouble. Has Knowles been taken off yet? I know Flegler has. His usual meagre opening.
 
I knew the slow starts would cost us soon. I was hoping it wouldn't be until early next year but no luck. I don't think we can come back from this against a quality team like the Roosters.

They scored the first try off a length intercept where we were in for all money if the pass was delivered half a second earlier. So that's a 12 point turn around. But Roosters were clearly the better team in the first 40. Kurt D hasn't had a happy game so far but as usual, we had 2 passengers, Flegler and Knowles. That isn't to say they were "bad". Just nowhere near as good as other options.
 
They wrestled some of the momentum back in the last 10 mins. The Roosters have been rock hard defensively and will be hard to crack. The Dolphins need to be first to score in the second half. It will take some mighty hard work (and luck) to win it from here.
 
I've seen enough. It's getting embarrassing now. I would not, Roosters started dominating again when Flegler came back for his second stint. And the tackle before their last try, the Roosters player ran straight passed Flegler like he wasn't there and on for anther 10m before being tackled. So they were on the front foot and played well to score. It was a good try but of Flegler made the tackle, momentum would have stopped the play before.
 
I didn't see the final 20min but I'm going to hold off Knowles for now because Flegler was worse. Kurt D also had his worst game in a long time. The outside backs kept us in it for about 50min but after that, it got away from us.
 
Good atmosphere at the game but the intercept clearly put us into a sense of shock after we were grinding well, conceded two soft tries after that

If we had scored that first try we probably roll on

There's always next year. I atcually think Williams might be just what we need but we need a young forward or two to step up too
 
The Roosters wore their finals game face tonight and the Dolphins had no answers. Their focus, intensity and experience were all on show which are major requirements this time of year. The Dolphins will learn from it. They've had a fucking tremendous season. I've enjoyed every second it. Hopefully, this is the start of some consistency as far as title contenders are concerned. I still say that they'll win a premiership by 2030. A few changes next year and those may be the ingredients to lift this club to the next level.

I am absolutely gutted. I fully expected to spend thousands on tickets, airfare and accommodation tonight. Maybe next year.
 
Really gutted but take a philosophical view. The better team on the night won. We only had that period 10 minutes either side of halftime. Other than that, all Roosters. I thought Herbie had a really good game. Really troubled them. Cobbo and Isaako just behind him then Bostock.

Plath stating in the backrow is a duck out of water and no reason for Lemuelu to start on the bench apart from the coach wanting his best mate to start at lock. Forwards were just well beaten. Next year with Pouniu playing 80 minutes in the backrow and Plath starting at lock, we should be much better.

News LTD judges, judged Flegler and Knowles to be the equal worst 2 on the field. Gave them both ratings of 4.5 out of 10.

Flegler was very poor. I am unsure of his future. He was one of the best props in the game before that cruel injury. The game is much too quick for him now.

I thought Knowles did OK tonight (by his standards). He didn't miss a tackle and he ran for 67 m. But, he has had a very disappointing debut NRL season. An ultra successful side of the future certainly doesn't include his presence.
