Recruitment and Retention for 2027

Cowboys talking to Tevita-Harris. Fuck me, we should be having a chat with him, but no, we have George Williams coming. A 7 to play 6 im assuming. He cant be coming to play anywhere else? Or even to back up Katoa.

i belive it when i see it cht moving to north qld wont happen as turned down chance going to broncos to play with his brother

i would say Williams is here to train the young guys coming through ie not going poach the young guys from dogs not to let them have go in nrl so probbally willams is here till the other two are ready as i don't see us getting cht long term if got the other two kids ( Reilly Laverty and Toby Batten)

I haven't seen any confirmation he's coming to play 5/8 but I doubt he'd come over to Aus to be a back up halfback.
Exactly, so he is going to push Katoa out of his position? That is kind of what I was alluding to.

If that's the case, sack Woolf and the recruitment team now, because its idiotic. And having watched Williams myself, and at his age, we would be going backwards if that was the case. Not to mention, you have a young half back there, with the right mentality, leadership qualities, still developing with a bright future and you recruit for his position. If he is coming to be a back up and play elsewhere, that's fine, but lets be honest, someone on good money needs to be starting, otherwise its a waste of salary cap space.

Either way you put it, you're either going backwards or its a waste of salary cap space. So I have no idea how they have come to that decision. There is absolutely no upside to this. However, I'm a couch supporter I hope they all prove me wrong.

If you look at the good teams in the comp, you don't question their recruitment like this decision. This early on in The Dolphins life, we cant make bad recruitment choices, and PNG are around the corner, its only going to get hard to get good players coming. We need to be spot on.

Surely there is no way he is going to replace Katoa. Despite Katoa's poor form so far this year. Club have made it pretty clear they want Katoa around for the long-term and Katoa has also said he wants to be around for the long-term.

Totally, and he is young. I think he will play origin etc. However, a young player has ups and downs. Those will level out for him.

However, despite that, I think his form is a result of other things. The whole team is down, and I think the coaching/game plans and direction arent there at the moment. That is not on Katoa.

He is a player you build a club around. If you're getting Williams to replace that, you've got rock in your head, and id prefer that a person with that point of view wasn't making recruitment decisions for my club.

Interested to see if we can sign someone for the rest if the year/next year as a result.

Was hoping from him to bolster the front row on return. As a result we now have a hole. Molo is an interchange, Gilbert is manufacrered, Flegler is coming back still. We now need a leader there for at least next year.

I would love to target LPT from the Dragons. Young gun front rower. Slightly unsettled. Big future.
Is that the young kid who asked for a release.
Heard reason he asked for a release after assistant coach told him he would never make it in first grade , too soft and slow and overweight. Hence why the bloke is no longer at club.

He did want a release, He wanted more first grade. If that club thinks he is too slow and soft I can see why they are coming last. He looks the good going forward with a little bit of coaching.

Dolphins prop Daniel Saifiti forced into early retirement after succumbing to shoulder injury

Former Blues enforcer Daniel Saifiti has tipped Dolphins duo Max Plath and Kulikefu Finefeuiaki to make their Origin debuts for Queensland as he confirmed his immediate retirement from the NRL.

Saifiti announced on Monday he had been granted a medical retirement by the NRL due to a shoulder injury after only eight appearances for the Dolphins.
